Biography

Siqi Zhang is a Visiting Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Stanford Center on China’s Economy and Institutions. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the Shaanxi Normal University in 2021. Her research interests are in the fields of development economics and public policy. In particular, her research focuses on the economics of education and human capital in rural China. She has extensive experience in fieldwork management. By conducting large-scale randomized controlled trials, she evaluates the impact of a parenting intervention on child outcomes and the effect of the micronutrient powder intervention on anemia among young children in rural China. Her current project is to evaluate the long-term impact of a six-month early childhood home-visiting program on child outcomes at school entry through a randomized experiment.
