Biography

Weiting Miao is a Postdoctoral Scholar in Environmental Social Sciences at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and a researcher in the Sustainability and Energy Transition Research Program housed at the Stanford Center on China's Economy and Institutions. She received her PhD in Economics from Duke University in 2025. She will join the University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Fall of 2026.

Weiting's research interests lie in the intersections of international trade and industrial organization. She combines large-scale micro-data with structural models to study firm behaviors, with a focus on innovation and the impact of industrial, trade, and environmental policies.
