Biography
Jun Gao is a Ph.D. student in Public Policy (Economics track) at Harvard, and is visiting Stanford in the fall. Her research focuses on energy and environmental topics, applying tools from industrial organisation, trade, and spatial economics. Her current work studies the power system in Europe, with a particular focus on the coordination of cross-border transmission infrastructure and the role of the grid in transmitting shocks across regions. Prior to Harvard, she completed her undergraduate studies in Environmental Policy and Management at Tsinghua University and earned an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford. She also gained experience working with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the World Resources Institute on energy- and environmental-related issues.
