Biography

Meilan Zhang is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the China Labor, Income and Population Research Program at the Stanford Center on China’s Economy and Institutions (SCCEI). She received her Ph.D. from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. Her research lies in health economics, with a focus on preventive health behaviors and their social spillovers, physician decision-making, and pharmaceutical policy. Using administrative health data and experimental and quasi-experimental methods, she examines how incentives, information, and institutions shape health care decisions and health outcomes.
