Yiwei Qian is a joint Postdoctoral Research Scholar of the Stanford Center on China’s Economy and Institutions and Stanford Graduate School of Business. Yiwei's general interests in Economics consist of Development Economics, Labor Economics, and Economics of Social Networks. His research focuses on human capital challenges in low-income contexts, especially rural China, and related Econometrics topics in Program Evaluation. He has been working on a series of randomized controlled trials to study the effective delivery of early childhood interventions at scale in rural China. He is currently working on a project to understand the demographic challenges for China. Yiwei completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Southern California in 2021. Yiwei previously received the Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Southern California and the Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwest University, China.
