Where is China’s economy headed and what are the implications for the rest of the world? Over 20 expert panelists weighed in over two days of discussions during the inaugural SCCEI China Conference.

SCCEI team members Huan Wang, Research Scholar, and Matthew Boswell, Associate Director of External Affairs, joined in conversation with 15+ experts on where, despite obstacles, opportunities can still be found to build business and economic ties between the U.S. and China.

SCCEI’s Impact Team attended the 13th Annual China Business Conference held in Washington, D.C. in May 2023. The team shares insights from the conference on issues raised surrounding the troubled U.S.-China relationship.

During the summer of 2021, a “regulatory storm” shook markets in China. While the crackdown had its most immediate effects on private education, internet business, and finance, the government has also rolled out new policies to shape manufacturing and infrastructure, and even household fertility and income distribution.
